How We Handle Food Allergies at Brainy Kids Place
For families of children with food allergies, safety is more than a priority—it’s a daily necessity. Parents often ask: “How will my child be protected at school if they have a food allergy?”
At Brainy Kids Place, we take food allergies seriously. Our policies, training, and daily routines are designed to keep children safe while still allowing them to enjoy meals and snacks confidently. Here’s how we do it.
📝 Clear Allergy Documentation
During enrollment, we ask parents to provide detailed allergy information, including physician instructions. This ensures we understand your child’s needs from day one and can share that information with every staff member who cares for your child.
🍎 Safe Meal Planning
Because breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in tuition, our staff plans menus with allergies in mind. We carefully label ingredients, avoid cross-contamination, and offer substitutions when needed. Parents are always welcome to review menus in advance and ask questions.
👩🏫 Staff Training and Vigilance
All teachers and kitchen staff are trained to recognize food allergies and respond appropriately. Training covers:
- Safe food handling and preparation
- Preventing cross-contact in classrooms and kitchens
- Recognizing early signs of allergic reactions
- Emergency response, including the use of EpiPens if prescribed
🛡️ Emergency Preparedness
If an allergic reaction ever occurs, our staff act quickly and decisively. Every teacher is certified in CPR and First Aid, and classrooms are equipped with emergency action plans. Parents are contacted immediately, and we follow the medical protocol you’ve provided.
🌟 A Team Approach
Handling food allergies is a partnership between families and staff. We encourage open communication, updates about changes in your child’s needs, and collaboration so your child can stay safe while still feeling included at mealtimes.
Peace of Mind for Parents
At Brainy Kids Place, safety is never left to chance. By combining thorough policies, careful food preparation, and trained staff, we create an environment where children with food allergies are protected—and families can feel confident.
