Chelsea Reue
Founder and President, Brainy Kids Place
Chelsea Reue is the Founder of Brainy Kids Place. Chelsea earned her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Sam Houston State University and worked as a kindergarten teacher prior to founding BKP. Chelsea has a deep understanding of the needs of children of different ages and knows how to respond to them professionally. Her school is equipped with the right facilities to spark creativity and foster social skill development as it gives learners the power and freedom to explore the world around them. Driven by her passionate love for young people and unwavering optimism, she is committed to her work and always takes various measures to ensure constant improvement. Chelsea is the wife of Jason Reue with whom they have collaborated to run their organization. The two are high school sweethearts that grew up on the same street in Houston, TX. They have since been blessed with two lovely children. Chelsea enjoys reading and constantly explores books to acquire new ideas.

Director of Operations, Brainy Kids Place
Jason Reue currently serves as the Director of Operations of Brainy Kids Place. He has also served as the Captain of the local fire department and has positively impacted the lives of many through education and good leadership. He is always aiming to establish trust through open and honest communication and dedicates his time to helping the directors of BKP grow into amazing and aspiring leaders. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a minor in Secondary Education from Sam Houston State University. He is also an EMT-Paramedic who has shown his dedication to offering services to the community. A husband and a father of two lovely children, Jason Reue has a keen interest in supporting children as they develop. This spirit has led him to dedicate his time to helping his wife, Chelsea Reue, ensure the continuity of the good services they provide to parents through their schools. The two have combined efforts to build a center that focuses on safety and effective learning by offering exceptional services that meet every learner’s needs.

Brainy Kids Place is owned by Jason and Chelsea Reue, both with Bachelors degrees in Education. They have two preschool children and when it came time to choose a preschool, they just couldn’t find a perfect fit for their family.

Our staff will focus on the development of your child and ensure that their physical, social, emotional, and educational needs are ..... met. Our Philosophy
Blended or mixed aged classrooms have been shown to increase empathy and a sense of community within the classrooms. Blended age classrooms are not “new” or “trendy”, in fact that is how the one room school house was structured up until the industrial revolution. Mixed age classrooms are a pillar in the Montessori method of teaching and supported by many child development specialists, such as Lev Vygotsky.

“We moved to Santa Fe in October 2016 I was just three months away from giving birth to my first child and a lot was going on. One of the things we had to do at this time was choose a daycare! I dreaded this moment, how could I trust anybody but myself to watch my daughter? That was my responsibility. Should I just stay home? No not possible that would slow me down in a career path that I had been working so hard for. What was the point of all those struggles in college if I didn’t stick to my path? But my child needed me!
The comparisons:
We made our first visit to a very well-reviewed daycare in League City. Yes this daycare was beyond what I could have wanted or needed. Security system great staff seemed ok, but the price oh my I have never expected to pay that much about $220 a week insane! The second daycare we visited one that was lead in the faith and tied into a church, again seemed great price was good the $160-$180 range but wait you don’t make them lunch and I have to pack it every day! No thanks! Third daycare we visited good price range a little under the other two but once we entered we were not impressed at all! It seemed filthy and un-organized I was defiantly not taking my daughter to this place no way!
Find the right one: (Brainy Kids Place)
The fourth place we visited in Santa Fe and right down the road from our new house! Halfway between my work and my husbands. Not sure why we didn’t just start in this location from the beginning. We rang the bell and were greeted by a pleasant lady at the front that we all know and love now. We were walked thru the policies and given a tour, ok this place isn’t bad. Lots of activates the kids look happy the teacher look engaged. Yes this feels very comfortable. That was it, I was done looking let me pay my deposit on get on the list.
The time has come:
Very nervous to drop off Beretta my daughter for her first day. She was 11 weeks old (April 2017) and she was one of the smaller babies. I brought all the needs watched her for a good twenty minutes, cried on the other side of the door and then made my way out. Within an hour I received a smiling picture of her on her first day. The week followed still difficult to drop her off each day. The weeks went by and it got easier and easier. She was loved she was happy and she was protected. Ms. Julie the infant teacher at the time was perfect. She kept open communication on what Beretta needed from going up in size on diapers to maybe having more to drink throughout the day. Me being a new parent and my own mother living two states away this was very helpful and made me feel good to have Beretta there.
Growing up Brainy:
Photos and updated kept coming in. Her social skills improved in no time she was in the mover’s room! We love Ms. Kaycee from watching Beretta in the Movers room some to taking her in the morning time at drop off always a big greeting and willingness to make my daughter comfortable with starting the day. That’s not just this one teacher though that’s all the teachers! Each teacher if they are hers or not go out of their way to try to make my daughter feel comfortable. She moved into the bigger room not sure of the name at about 16 months old this is the room she is currently in today. She is still the smallest here but this room she has made the most in! From better verbal skills including singing randomly, telling me what objects and BKP Website Updates items are or demanding them to interactions. She may still be the shyest of them all but she’s getting there. The most useful thing she has done is this room is potty train! At home we had been trying for two months and it seems within a two weeks’ time she has picked it up very well from daycare. I’m sure this is from seeing her friends there being big kids and learning as well.
Final Thoughts:
Today I am filled with so much comfort and joy that we went with Brainy Kids Place, I don’t think any other place would feel like a second family to us. We are happy to have Beretta there until school and we are adding another Brainy Kid to the family in a few short month she will join the daycare. I’m sure I will again stand outside the door and cry and be scared and concerned but I know all the teachers here love and do the best they can to care for our children. I wouldn’t have it any other way and they desire the biggest thank you that we can give them! They desire well more than we can ever say and I know I don’t say it enough! Thank you Brainy Kids Place for loving and growing our children with us.”

I wanted to make sure you know how much I appreciate all the teachers there.
When Abigail was in Ms. Katie's class she learned so much. She learned to speak better, and Ms. Katie helped immensely on our potty training journey. Abigail learned to use her manners, and got a lot better at sharing her toys. Ms. Katie helped teach her numbers and letters, Abigail would sing her ABC's every single day. She would come home and tell me what number she learned, as well as what letter. Ms. Katie is such an amazing person, and she will always hold a special place in mine and Abigail's heart.
Ms. Diana is so sweet and wonderful with Abigail. Abigail always comes home with her hair looking so pretty (apparently she will sit still for her but not me). She always talks about how nice Ms. Diana is, and Abigail has even learned some Spanish... and she is only 3!
Ms. Elizabeth is one of the most kind hearted people I have ever met! She always makes sure to give Abigail hugs before she leaves, and has helped Abigail understand that its okay to go #2 at daycare. She has also helped us try to get Abigail to stop sucking her thumb. I love how she is always willing to help with anything, and Abigail adores her.
Melanie and Kristen are absolutely amazing. They always make sure to help in any way possible. They are always smiling and neither one of them ever mind when I call to check in on my baby girl. Any time I have any concerns they do everything in their power to take care of it. They never even hesitate.
Ms. Kaycee is such a blessing. She is there every morning when I drop Abigail off and she always helps with the task of dropping her off so I can get to work on time. Abigail always tells me how much she likes sitting at the table with Ms. Kaycee and eating her breakfast with her.She always so happy in the morning to which makes the day start off just right.
Brainy Kids Place was Abigail's first daycare, I wouldn't trade it for the world. She has blossomed into such an amazing, sweet and smart little girl with the help of each and every person there. “October 2015 we were in search of a daycare facility for our 3 year old son. Since childcare isn't something to be taken lightly, my husband and I took off work to go research the different childcare facilities. A lady I currently work with recommended Brainy Kids Place. Her child had been attending there since she was 9 months old. She even found a coupon for reduced tuition if enrolled by the end of October. Of course, a coupon would not be a valid reason for us to choose a facility to care for our most precious child. After visiting several facilities, Brainy Kids Place was the one we chose. The facility has safety measures in place to ensure that strangers don't come in unauthorized. In the last year they have made several cosmetic improvements to the facility and playground. The teachers have been willing to work with Nicholas on his potty training and use positive reinforcement with the children. Nicholas told me the other day that he loves...Miss Alaine, Miss Chelsea, Miss Brooke, Ms. Nicole, Ms. Melanie...and listed pretty much all of the teachers I've ever met. This gave me a sense of peace, knowing that no matter which teachers my son interacts with each day, they all make him feel loved. My son is very vocal and tells me about how his day is when I pick him up. He rarely has bad days, and when he does the teachers take the time to tell me about any issues and we work together; Parent, Teacher and Child, to do what is in the best interest of my child. “After 3 years of having my daughter watched by family members, it was time to find a daycare/school for her. I made an appointment for Wednesday afternoon around 330 and when my daughter, myself and my dad arrived... I loved we couldn't get in without having someone come let us in.
As we were touring around, I took notice of the cleanliness (especially the baseboards). I had every question answered and didn't feel nothing but warmth.
When we walked back to were my daughters classroom was, the teacher greeted my child with compassion and warmth as if she was speaking to her own child. Even offered her a sucker as the other kids had one. Instantly my daughter wanted to stay... They were even getting ready to work on sign language. (amazing)
After, I left, I called and asked about starting my daughter Thursday instead of Monday... They accommodated the request.
Today, I had her daddy and I both drop of our daughter (so he could also register) and while he got emotional the staff even helped him through it. Mrs. Chelsea then asked if she could have a hug and at that point my daughter felt comfortable and waved bye to us. I called once to check on her, and they said she was adjusting well. This afternoon my mom went with me (so she could register too) and she even complimented the school we picked.
The best part, walking in to my daughter interacting amazingly with the class and was so proud of her fan they made. Mrs. Chelsea gave me the update and made me feel so much at peace.

“We have been going to Brainy Kids since my daughter was 2.5 months and she is now almost 6 months. Let me start by saying I never wanted to put my daughter in daycare. I always thought I would be a stay at home mom but when the time came it just wasn't in the cards for us. I had been on the waiting list at two other local daycare centers for months (and still have never gotten a call with an opening). I was starting to panic that I hadn't found child care yet so I randomly stopped in at Brainy Kids. Boy was I impressed. The owner was there and gave me a tour on the spot. She put all of my concerns at ease in an hour. It took my daughter about three weeks to adjust to her new environment and ever since then she has done great at Brainy Kids and smiles at all her teachers when I drop her off (and back at them when I pick her up). They provide a detailed sheet of her daily activities including naps, feedings, moods, and diaper changes (done at least once every hour). They are always adding new things to the room for the babies to play with. There are usually two teachers in there at one time and almost always an admin staff there to help when all the babies get fussy or hungry at once. I really think my daughter is thriving in daycare and I even think she has little baby friends. Any concerns I have ever had and brought up to Chelsea or any member of her staff have always been addressed and they have even followed up with me. I can only speak for the baby room at this time, but for a first time overprotective mom, Brainy Kids place scores an A plus in my book! Thanks for taking care of my girl ladies.

Wow what can I say! We have been going to BKP for a year now since our daughter was 10 weeks. Tomorrow she moves up to the toddler room so this will be a final review of the baby room. “My kids have been going here for almost two years now. I chose this place because when it use to be Little Texans my two oldest went there and then I pulled them out when I was on maternity leave. So when I went back to work I went back to that daycare and they told me it had a new owner and let me tour the place. From the moment I first walked in to Brainy Kids Place, I knew it was unlike any other child care facility I had ever been inside. Chelsea, the owner, took me on a tour of the facilities, and I could tell from her passion and enthusiasm and that of the other employees, that this was a special place. I made up my mind immediately that this was where I wanted my four year old and “baby on the way” to go to school.
My four year old has been to a few different daycares because of our job and living situations at home. And truthfully, he never really seemed at home with any of them. Every kid is special, with their own quirks and personalities, and my son is no exception. However, at all of the other daycares they seemed to try to make him change who he was to fit a mold of what he “should” be. However, at Brainy Kids Place Chelsea and her staff, especially Ms. Angel, have made a point of embracing his individuality and genuinely trying to help him grow as an individual both academically and socially rather than conform to a standard. Since his enrollment my son seems more confident in who he is and what he knows. He genuinely enjoys going to school, although sometimes he likes to pretend he doesn't want to stay in the mornings. Even his manners have improved.

“Before coming to Brainy Kids Place I had my son enrolled in Childworks. He was there for about 4 years. The older he got the worse the classrooms became. There was no structure, no guidelines and there might as well not have even been rules. My son was labeled one of the problem children. Anything that happened, even normal behavior for a child was unacceptable. Considering rules and punishment were never enforced I never understood why they expected him or the other children to be "perfect angels". There were no group activities or teachers involving themselves with the students. There was one big TV and the children were basically to entertain themselves. Which to a 5-6 year old means get in trouble and see what we can get away with. They did not have a separate classroom, nor were the teachers watching them half the time. Breakfast, lunch, snack, everything included sugary snacks and unhealthy foods. In return they honestly wondered why the children were never behaved. My son never knew what to expect day to day. There was not a set routine. It was get off the bus, eat cookies, watch tv and go crazy.
My son is now 6 and in 1st grade. He started Brainy Kids Place a couple months ago and everything about his behavior has improved. They have a set routine, they know what to expect. It warms my heart to pick him up and see them eating oranges and the teacher helping the kiddos with their homework and having such patience to help them learn and guide them. I walked in one day to see the Owner, Chelsea, on the floor with what looked to be 1-2 year olds, teaching them. I have never seen an Owner be involved and actually take the time to know you and your child.
My son isn't good with change. It was a rocky road the first couple of weeks coming from no rules to set guidelines and structure. However, I would never change my decision to put him in Brainy Kids Place. The name says it all. Everything about this daycare makes me happy. When there is an issue/problem, Chelsea is proactive and makes the change for the better. Keep doing what you're doing!!!! We love this place!!”

We toured Brainy Kids Place when I was roughly 8 months pregnant. Originally, we scheduled to tour and review 5 daycares in the area. However, Brainy Kids Place was the first, last and only daycare we toured. From the moment we walked in, it felt “right.” BKP is neat and well-kept and it is evident that every member of the staff truly loves what she does. Chelsea is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her business and comes with one heck of a resume. Chelsea’s love for her business flows down to other members of the BKP team. Another thing that drew us in and continues to impress us is Chelsea’s and Kristin’s (BKP director) involvement with the BKP kiddos.
After my daughter’s first day at BKP, I knew we made the right decision. By the end of her first week with BKP, my daughter smiled as soon as she saw Nichole and other BKP teammates in the infant room. To this day, she continues to do so. Our daughter is now 6 months old. During her time at BKP, she has continued to strive. She has exceeded all my expectations as a mother as she grows, learns and excels. Although it is heartbreaking to miss out on moments like her first time to sit up or crawl, I feel better seeing the excitement on the faces of the BKP team (it is almost as though they are excited and proud as I am to see her new moves!). I love that BKP sends her home with a daily activity sheet because it keeps me up to date on her progress and what she is learning each day. Further, BKP does activities with her every day which I know she enjoys and my fridge does, too!
Finally, cost and convenience were two important factors in our decision. Not only is BKP’s tuition a great “bang for my buck,” I also feel like I am getting more that I could imagine with my tuition. Additionally, BKP is close to everything and extremely convenient.
All in all, I could not be more pleased with BKP. Not only am I a “momma bear,” I am also a full time attorney. As such, I am often told I am hard to deal with and harder to please.
